Journey into Disaster

I proudly present chapter

5.03. Parents, sons and I

Excerpt:

The in the Philippines arrested German, Thomas Heger, meets the parents and his alleged victims — the five little boys.
….
There’s a lot going on in Officer Sarang’s office. The five boys sit next to desks and on the bamboo cane seating in the corner of the room. They talk and laugh. Rica, Sam’s mother, and Lang, the mother of the brothers Jan and Dan, also sit there. Everyone jumped up when we enter the office. Aboy immediately throws himself around my neck and hugs me tightly. Ironically, the little one, Dan, tries to hug me around the stomach area, which is difficult because of his short arms. Phil takes my right hand and leads it to his bowed forehead. The gesture of honoring the elder person. One by one all boys do the same gesture as Phil. That’s good because Aboy and Dan are walking away from me and I can move and breathe again.

The two officers watch the scene with amusement and the younger comments: “But it doesn’t look like the perpetrator and his victims.”

I reply: “Please report this to Ma’am Papillio immediately, sir!”

We laugh heartily.
